The business, which had been operating since April, complied with City of Stirling orders to shut down and ceased operations last week. A Stirling spokeswoman said council staff would continue to monitor the premises.
Mayor David Boothman said the building’s owners had also been told about their obligations to tenants.
“The owners, through their agent, have subsequently committed to take action through the lease agreement with the business proprietor to have the business remain closed pending consideration of the submitted planning application and possible consideration of the State Administrative Tribunal,” he said.
The Stirling Times was unable to contact anyone at the Innaloo business.
A receptionist at the Applecross branch of Bikini Girls said the Innaloo premises had closed for one month. Applecross was the only one still operating.
Last month, a former employee spoke to Stirling Times journalists about the work conditions.
“Amanda” also said she feared for young employees’ safety.
Department for Child Protection staff last month inspected the premises after complaints that children were working there but found no under-age workers.
The closure came as Cr Bill Stewart called for local governments to be granted greater power in dealing with troublesome businesses of “significant community concern”.
Cr Stewart said local councils needed to be given greater responsibility to take action.
“The sad reality... is that local government cannot forcibly bar the doors and issue a public order of closure that would be enforceable by the courts,” he said.
